This is the tie many Hammers fans have been waiting for but sadly denied by the Blades tragic descent into the lower leagues. However, the cup has the capacity to bridge such gaps and after the long wait we will get to welcome back our old friends from up North.
One suspects that Sam will dispense with the usual practice of fielding a young side in what is a minor competition as this clash has all sorts of delicious nuances. Time for Hammer fans to dig out those old Carlos Tevez shirts!
Paperwork all in order! |
The tie is scheduled for the 26th or 27th of August.
We are going for a winner from our current Argentinian ace, Mauro Zarate.
That would be truly fitting.
Great! At least we're likely to get one win before Xmas...!
