While the victory over Spurs in midweek was a most enjoyable affair, the injury to James Collins was a definite dampener. With both Tomkins and Reid also unavailable to start, all eyes have turned to young Reece Oxford.
Oxford enjoyed an impressive display for the final half hour on Wednesday. Tucked in behind the ultra-impressive Ogbonna and Kouyate, the lad looked assured.
However, with Everton comes the plague that is Romelu Lukaku. Having scored in all seven previous games against the Hammers, and currently in top form with 17 strikes this season, it'll be a big test for young Oxford.
Slaven Bilic says that the lad has no nerves. Certainly pictures of the journey up to Liverpool yesterday confirm that he isn't experiencing any sleeplessness!
After managing a League Cup draw earlier in the season, maybe today is the moment to put the Goodison jinx to bed.
