Is this the new Ravel?

News coming in indicates that 19 year old Birmingham city starlet Reece Brown (not to be confused with Wes Brown's 26 year old brother at Bury) is on trial at the Hammers. With almost 20 appearances at underage level for England and a handful of starts for Birmingham, Brown is considered a gifted talent with huge potential.

Birmingham City fans have expressed their disappointment that Brown looks set to leave as he has threatened in fits and starts to break into their first team set up but, with his contract running out in the Summer, is clearly now surplus to requirements at the streamlined Blues. Interestingly, Brown is described as a stylish midfielder but who comes with a definite 'attitude' warning.

All of which will sound familiar to the Hammers faithful, but undoubtedly the lad deserves his chance. Moreover, the Bilic regime has already demonstrated its capacity to deal with suboptimal commitment which augers well for discipline levels amongst our up and coming talents.

Brown seems to have enjoyed his outing against Brighton Development squad at Rush Green this evening where he had the honour of lining out alongside Alex Song who is working on his match fitness. The Hammers ran out 2-0 winners.

Meanwhile, poor Ravel Morrison continues to struggle to fit in at Lazio, with suggestions that the Italian club would be happy to cut their losses after less than six months of his four year deal.
