Amidst a sea of speculation about the potential arrival of a big-name striker to West Ham, it looks like the white smoke is about to be released.
Reports earlier today indicated that Tim Steidten was off to Brazil with orders to bring home a new striker. Later, there were reports that the deal had been rejected outright by Corinthians as they feel that they cannot afford to lose any top talent just now and West ham's valuation was considered well below the mark.
But now, Football Insider have revealed that West Ham have agreed personal terms with Yuri Alberto and that all that remains is some finalising of the finances before the 22 year old heads for London.
It's certainly exciting news as the emerging star has an excellent scoring record, had a decent spell in Russia cut short by the Ukraine war and has broken into the Brazil squad since his freescoring return to Brazil.
It's not a fully done deal yet but West ham are very close to a much needed signing. This transfer window has gone from a famine to a veritable feast over the past fortnight!
P.S. There's still time to bring in some back up at left and right back.
COYI!!!
1 goal every 3 games is not great. Pedro has a much better record. 128 goals in 297 games. Yuri Alberto is a poor man's Antonio. Get Pedro. 6ft 1ins and Paqueta's best mate. No brainer
ReplyDeletePaqueta recommended Alberto. Pedro has baggage
DeleteScoring 1 goal in every 3 games in a pub league is not great . The issues with how many different clubs own him could cause huge problems for Westham including points deductions . Far to complex a deal to waste the last 4 days on .
ReplyDeleteGot to hope Steidten knows his stuff. Yu'd presume he would have sussed all the background details before flying out to Brazil in such a crucial week of business?
DeleteSignings so far all look great, got to put a bit of trust into the people who know what's what
