Hammers Defence has Moyes Full Backing

It's a bit of a patch up job at the back as West ham travel to St Marys for today's clash with Southampton. The injuries are mounting after an intense series of matches in Europe and the Premiership.

Moyes is without Dawson and Zouma with Ben Johnson and Thilo Kehrer filling the CB berths. Along with Emerson that makes for a defence composed of five full backs and no dedicated centre back in the starting XI!

Angelo Ogbonna is approaching full fitness and available from the bench if needed.

Otherwise, it's a predictable side with Scamacca leading the line and Pacqueta in behind with Emerson and Bowen on the wings.

This presents the chance to make it three wins on the bounce but Southampton usually make it difficult, especially at home.

COYI!!!

West Ham Starting XI: Lukasz Fabianski; Vladimir Coufal, Ben Johnson, Thilo Kehrer, Aaron Cresswell, Emerson; Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek; Jarrod Bowen, Gianluca Scamacca, Lucas Paqueta

Substitutes: Alphonse Areola, Darren Randolph, Angelo Ogbonna, Conor Coventry, Flynn Downes, Manuel Lanzini, Said Benrahma, Michail Antonio, Pablo Fornals

  1. Moyes is playing a struggling team, low in confidence. Another defensive minded team giving Southampton the initiative from the kick off. He is a one trick pony who thinks the same predictable tactics with different players will win something! he is a dinosaur.
