Why West Ham will win against Hull City

After the latest coma-inducing international break, the mighty Hammers travel north to take on Hull City Pussycats at the KFC stadium tomorrow night. Both sides have endured mixed fortune so far this season and will in all likelihood both be hoping to grab all three points However, with all the new arrivals at both clubs it requires superior Nostradamus-abilities to predict how things might unfold.

First up, the departure of Momo Diame to Hull was an interesting one - Momo's first season at West Ham was stunning and prompted all sorts of rumours of a big move to a top six club. However, last season his form dipped and he failed to nail down a starting berth this season such that a move became inevitable. There can be no doubting that an on form Diame is a formidable threat, but too often he holds onto the ball for too long or loses possession trying to run straight through opposition players. Having recently picked up Cheik Kouyate and Alex Song, big Sam will feel that his midfield has considerably strengthened and would have struggled to find a place for Diame (will the same logic apply for the aging Kevin Nolan?). All the same, what a stage for Momo to make his point with one of his trademark strikes? 

Otherwise, Hull have spent big of late and can also call upon newbies Hatem Ben Arfa and Gaston Ramirez. While Ramirez failed to shine at Southampton, Ben Arfa is always a nuisance and may prove a costly los for the struggling Alain de Pardew at Noocassell. Record signing Abel Hernandez is not yet fully registered and must sit this one out.

For the Hammers, Nolan is still out so we will almost certainly get to see some of the newbies in midfield. the prospect of a Noble-Song-Kouyate midfield will undoubtedly excite Hammer fans, while the width provided by the exciting Aaron Cresswell along with new arrival Morgan Amalfitano may mean that we will finally get to see the high quality wide attacking play Sam has been promising since we shelled out all that cash for Andy Carroll.

Keep an eye out for Mauro Zarate to steal the limelight from all the newbies.

Our prediction is 2-1 to West Ham. Hull's new kids will be trying ever so hard - but Sam likes that sine if his tea are defensively organised (i.e. not like the shambles against Southampton!) they can frustrate Hull and sucker them with a set piece (all those new guys won't be as organised as to their roles at set pieces) or a pacey counterattack - led by Amalfitano coming on with 20 minutes to go!
