The infamous Giovanni Trappatoni quote dates back to a question as to whether he might consider Paolo Di Canio for Italy's 2004 World Cup Squad. At the time, Di Canio was on fire and would have been selected for pretty much any other International side. But alas, the conservative Trapps was unwilling to take a risk on the volatile talent. Increasingly, one wonders if Roy Hodgson has a similar grudge against Hammers superstar midfielder Mark Noble? The latest outrage occured when he select Ryan Somebody or other to replace Adam The LLama in the England squad. Surely it's time for Noble to commit to the Republic of Ireland?
Meanwhile, rising Hammer's star Reece Oxford captained the U17's to a comprehensive 3-1 victory over Slovenia, scoring a cracking headed goal in the process.
