Why a result against the Cherries is so important

Bournemouth have hit form just at the right time and will see today's clash with West ham as a means to nailing down their Premiership survival. A win would probably give them enough points (36) to stay up.

However, their part in the relegation battle will remaincrucial as they have yet to face Leeds, Everton and Southampton. If they go into those games needing points then it will add to the pressure on those clubs and by extension benwfit the Hammers cause.

The opposite could spell real trouble for Moyes' men as they could spill points to those clubs.

In such circumstances, a draw today wouldn't be a bad result but with games running out and amongst them clashes with Man City, Liverpool and Man Utd perhaps today is a prime opportunity to grab one of the two wins that are probably needed to ensure safety.

The sooner that is nailed down the better as it will allow the Hammers to focus on Europe and work on normalising the free flowing style that was finally unleashed against Genk and in the second half of last week's battle with Arsenal.

The good news is that Antonio is on form and usually scores in bursts of 5-6 goals in quick succession. Hopefully today will see that run continue.
