Brace Yourself! It Looks Like the Rumours are True

Hammers fans have been less than impressed with our latest round of club strips with both home and away kits described as insipid and not maintaining of the club's history. Even worse, pictures emerged last week of the new third kit that were even more disappointing.

In reality, the third kit only gets an occasional airing and is a great chance to cut loose and try out a bit of more risqué design. Instead, the Hammers have come up with a real shocker. Off white with apologetic claret n blue on the shoulder area, it looks like a poor man's Palace kit. Awful!

The snap of the kit being worn during training at Rush Green by new signing Andriy Yarmolenko is even more concerning as it highlights the remarkable disparity between the standard of our training facilities and the club's position as the 16th wealthiest on the planet.

In recent years the issues around our (statistically proven) elevated rate of injuries and the training facilities have been suggested, especially by Slaven Bilic who moved training for a period in an attempt to reduce our injury rate. Even more concerning is that one wonders what our international recruits make of the standard of the facilities? As we are reported to be trying to prise top players away from the likes of Juve and Barcelona, we really need to look at our training set up.

Until then, let's try to keep pictures of a crumbling wall out of the media!

  1. One of the first things Pellegrini did when he saw Rush Green was to insist that we spend big on refurbishing & upgrading it. This will take a bit of time, so don’t worry about crumbling walls & dirty plastic seats.
