Srnicek in Critical Condition. Please read this important information

The injury 'crisis' at West Ham was put into perspective by the sobering news that former keeper Pavel Srnicek has suffered a cardiac arrest at only 47 years of age.

The incident occured whilst jogging near Ostrava. He is reported as having been unconscious for twenty minutes, placing him in the poorer prognosis category.

Srnicek provided back up services for the Hammers during their Championship campaign of 2004, appearing in three games, as he reached the twilight of his career. Best remembered for his period in Kevin Keegan's flamboyant Newcastle side of the 1990s, he has been working for Sparta Prague as a goalkeeping coach since 2012.

The very best of luck, big man!

For Hammers fans who may be worried about their risk of heart disease, smoke, are overweight or have a family history of heart attack we recommend you read the useful information at http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Coronary-heart-disease/Pages/Prevention.aspx
